Why invest in multifamily real estate rather than stocks or mutual funds?

Description:  An explanation of the reasons I prefer multi-family syndications over stock or mutual funds.

Look, I don’t have anything against the stock market.  If that’s your thing, that’s what you should do.  Far be it from me to say otherwise…

…unless, of course, you really value income, tax benefits and predictability, none of which stocks are very good at providing, and all of which are a basic, fundamental part of nearly every single multifamily deal.

They’re just two radically different asset classes, and the only generalization I can make is that while I see quite a few people diversifying out of stocks and into multifamily, I see very few who diversify out of multifamily and into stocks.  That’s anecdotal, I admit, but it’s still instructive.
